Meet Amineh…
Amineh (she/her/hers) is a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist and Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She received her BA from UC Santa Cruz in Theatre Arts and her MS from Sacramento State University in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling. Before becoming a therapist, Amineh worked in higher education advising students. She loves spending time with family, both biological and chosen. Some of her interests include animals, reading, and cooking.
Amineh’s therapy is strongly person centered; she embraces the idea that a solid therapeutic relationship is the backbone to change. Amineh believes this relationship is built through empathy, humor, and respect for the idea that the client is the expert in their own life. Her therapeutic style is eclectic; she tailors treatments to the client’s needs, working to find an approach that feels right to them. Some of the theories she pulls from are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Rational & Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
Amineh works with adults, teens, and couples. She is passionate about serving the queer community. Her own bi-cultural background (Persian and American) left her with a special interest in working with clients of multiple heritages, as well as clients whose parents are immigrants. Among other clinical interests, Amineh enjoys working with anxiety, depression, relational issues, and identity exploration.
